When we fully encapsulate an attic with spray foam, we must provide conditioned air. We have essentially moved the envelope of the home from the ceiling to the roof.

Conditioning an encapsulated attic involves controlling the temperature and humidity within the space to improve overall home efficiency and comfort. Here’s why it’s beneficial:

1. **Energy Efficiency**: By conditioning the attic, you ensure that the space remains at a consistent temperature, reducing the workload on your HVAC system. This can lead to lower energy bills and more efficient heating and cooling throughout the home.

2. **Improved Air Quality**: Conditioning helps manage humidity levels, which can reduce the risk of mold growth and improve indoor air quality.

3. **Extended Roof Life**: Maintaining a consistent temperature in the attic can help prevent ice dams and reduce wear and tear on roofing materials.

4. **Enhanced Comfort**: Properly conditioned attics contribute to a more stable indoor environment, making your home more comfortable overall.

Encapsulating an attic typically involves sealing it off from the outside environment and then conditioning it to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels.
