Think "new construction" means everything is perfect? Think again. In this video, I’m at a brand-new home where the fire-rated garage entry door has a major fail. Instead of automatically closing to protect the living space, the hinges are so poorly adjusted that the door swings wide open on its own.

In a fire, seconds count. A self-closing door isn't just a convenience; it’s a critical safety barrier designed to keep heat, flames, and carbon monoxide out of your home.

Don't assume—inspect.
